In-Depth Hands-On Review

Design and Build: Under Half an Inch Thin

Apple continues its unibody anodized aluminum geometry with pristine precision. At just 11.3mm thin and weighing 2.7 pounds, the chassis fits comfortably in any backpack sleeve. The MagSafe 3 charging port frees up both Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports for peripherals.

Silicon Performance: 3nm Efficiency

The M3 silicon incorporates hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing, delivering dramatic boosts in rendering, photo processing, and Xcode compilation times without generating thermal throttling noise. Because there are no internal cooling fans, the laptop operates in total, blissful silence 100% of the time.
